This course examines issues in the ethics and political philosophy of historical injustice. What constitutes historical injustice? Is all historical injustice culpable? Can historical injustice be remedied justly, or does remedying historical injustice require perpetrating at least some injustice now? If the victims and perpetrators of historical injustice are no longer around, how can justice be served? Who should benefit from remedying historical injustice, and who should pay?
