Certificate in Ancient Languages - ERCER0382

The Certificate in Ancient Languages is open to students who are interested in taking courses in ancient languages. The 2.0 credit requirement will permit students to develop a strong foundation in one or two ancient languages; gain a historical understanding of their study; cultivate working relationships with faculty; explore independent research and collaboration opportunities; and obtain a transcript notation signaling their language proficiency.

Enrolment in the certificate program is open to all undergraduate students completing programs at UTM.

2.0 credits are required:

  1. 0.5 credit in CLA.
  2. 1.5 credits to be chosen from the following list: LAT101H5 or LAT102H5 or LAT213H5 or LAT221H5 or GRK101H5 or GRK102H5 or GRK213H5 or GRK221H5. An average grade of 60% or higher across language courses is required.
  1. Additional courses may be required to fulfill prerequisites.
  2. Alternate courses may be eligible for the certificate. Please contact the Department of Historical Studies Academic Advisor for approval, prior to enrollment into an alternate course.
